Clinical Supervision

I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College London in 2006.

Over the last ten years I have worked extensively in many different NHS MDTs including CAMHS, inpatient adolecent, CMHTs, primary care mental health and forensic.

I have also had a successful busy full time private practice in Sydney Australia which I sold when I moved to New Zealand*.

I have completed the British Psychological Society formal Supervisory training and I am an accredited supervisor

Over the last ten years I have peer supervised clinical psychologists, trainee psychologists, counsellors and assessment gateway workers.

My UCL three year doctorate training was based on CBT, Psychodynamic and Systemic approaches. My thesis during my doctorate was on chronic pain and I also completed a placement in health psychology.

Since qualifying I have received training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focussed Therapy Compassion Focussed Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I also receive regular child and adult safeguarding training in my NHS position.

I am familiar with working algonside patients with low to medium suicidal risk. I am trained in the NHS to regularly undertake risk assessments and I am happy to work alongside you to manage risky complex clients. I am also aware of the NHS services available to refer clients to should their risk increase.

I have often supervised individuals who have a different training from me, such as person centred, Gestalt or existential approaches.

I believe I am adaptable to whatever background you may have, as long as I am familiar with your approach. I can act as a support with complex patients and a sounding board to support you in this often emotionally taxing, yet rewarding work.

I am also happy to offer supervision over skype or the telephone if travelling to the clinic is difficult for you due to time restraints.

Supervision is a respectiful, nonjudgemental, clinical space for you. A space for you to reflect, gain a peer opinion if required, or just check in. It can be as little or as often as you require.
